The Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) owns and operates the historic Brisbane Showgrounds, home to the iconic Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) and more than 200 events a year. The precinct, just 1.5kms from the Brisbane CBD, is the state's largest indoor/outdoor events site attracting more than a million visitors each year and featuring the five-star Royal International Convention Centre, vibrant King Street dining hub and a Rydges Hotel. The RNA’s core charter is to celebrate and champion the essential role agriculture plays in the everyday lives of Queenslanders. All revenue is reinvested back into this charter.

OUR BUSINESS AREAS

Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) 

The Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) is Queensland's largest and most loved annual event, attracting on average more than 400,000 people. Run by the RNA for nine days in August, the Ekka bring the country and city together for a true celebration of agriculture. The Ekka showcases the best of Queensland, attracting more than 20,000 competition entries from woodchop to giant vegetables, thousands of animals from beef cattle to cats and dogs, world-class live entertainment, award-winning food and wine, carnival rides, and showbags, family shopping, educational activities and much more. The iconic event has been running since 1876 and is full of traditions, a unique atmosphere and childhood memories that have been passed down through generations of families. The RNA is honoured to stage Queensland's largest event on behalf of the community each year and is committed to preserving a wonderful legacy for future generations to enjoy.

Royal Queensland Awards (RQA)

The Royal Queensland Awards (RQA) - formerly the Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show - is a celebration of the nation's finest produce and producers. The RQA is dedicated to unearthing the nation's top food, beer and wine products each year through its six individual competitions - Cheese and Dairy; Ice Cream, Gelato and Sorbet, Branded Beef, Branded Lamb; Wine and Beer. Since 2009, the RQA has nurtured innovation and excellence in the Queensland and Australian food and beverage sectors by providing a comprehensive awards program which helps Australian producers benchmark and promote their products.

Brisbane Showgrounds & Royal International Convention Centre

The Brisbane Showgrounds is a venue business which hosts more than 200 events each year including exhibitions, conferences, banquets, and music festivals.

The Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC) is a world-class, two-level building featuring three halls with state-of-the-art rigging, seven adaptable meeting rooms, two boardrooms, an open foyer, 140 car parks and cutting-edge catering facilities. It's the only convention centre in Australia where guests can enjoy award-winning food and beverages from the prestigious Royal Queensland Awards and iconic Royal Queensland Show competitions.

EDUCATION

EMERGING WORKFORCE PROGRAM

 

The RNA Emerging Workforce Program is a year-round program that offers,  internshipsvocational placement,  work experience and student volunteers for students from year 10 onwards. That includes students from Secondary, Vocational Education and University level courses.
