Queensland Wine Show Results Catalogue
The Royal Queensland Wine Show is one of Australia's oldest,
most prestigious and highly contested wine shows. As the first
national wine show held in capital cities across Australia, this
show allows Australia's best wine producers to reveal their new
season's vintage. Incorporating an Industry Trade Tasting, Public
Tasting and black tie Gala Awards Dinner, there are many
opportunities for wine makers to gain public recognition for their
achievements.
Chief Judge: Mr Phillip John
Competition includes Current Vintage, Commercial Classes,
One Year Old, Mature Wines, Sparkling Wines and Australian
Brandy
Judging Process
A total of 12 judges and four associate judges from across
Australia are divided into four panels to judge wines over a period
of five days. The judging panels will sip, swirl, taste and spit to
find the wine award winners.
The quality of individual wine determines the number of awards
given in each class. In some classes a number of Gold medals may be
awarded, but in others no Gold or Silver awards are given if the
judging criteria standards are not met.
