RNA Career & Training Expo
The RNA Career and Training Expo is an annual initiative of the RNA and its partners to educate secondary students about agricultural and industrial options that exist after leaving school. With a specific focus on rural employment opportunities and career development, the RNA Career and Training Expo targets students engaged in rural study or those considering a long-term career in the rural sector. The Expo has a strategic focus on rural lifestyle and aims to address the misconceptions surrounding rural careers and training. The RNA Career and Training Expo provides students with:
- Rural employment opportunities (training, apprenticeships, colleges, universities)
- Exposure to Australia's elite rural industries
- Exposure to rural industry employment prospects and the various pathways available at all levels of achievement.
Over 500 students visited the Expo in 2009. This is the only Career and Training Expo held in a rural environment in the centre of Brisbane. City students have the opportunity to meet with Country students and view the livestock competitions taking place in the Main Arena. Exhibitors in 2009 included:
